With light, spring breeze, and gentle waves, on the evening of April 20^th, a unique fashion show cum graduation project show was held on the water runway of Wenzhou University Art Museum, which was rare compared with previous ones.

Themed with “Blossom in Spring Breeze”, the “Xinnuo Cup” Fashion Show was led by 30 WZU graduates studying clothing and fashion design. Through the integration of creativity and fashion, they explored the fashion industry of Wenzhou. 

At the event, Wang Shun, Vice President of Wenzhou University, pointed out in his remark that the College of Fine Arts and Design, which offered national first-class programs in clothing and fashion design, fully leveraged its advantages in shoes, leather, clothing, and other fields, and featured a unique training model that emphasized both theories and practice. He also said that the college had achieved fruitful results in talent cultivation, artistic creation, and serving local culture, and made positive contributions to building Wenzhou into a “fashion and clothing city of China” as well as an “international fashion innovation pioneer zone.” It is hoped that students studying eclothing and fashion design at Wenzhou University will make more contributions to the society.

The annual fashion show cum graduation project show is of great significance as it displays the talent cultivation of the college and serves as a “fashion feast” for Wenzhou fashion designers to exchange ideas with each other. This time, the show had a total of 90 sets of works on display, which embodied students’ concepts and practice on fashion design and art, and brought more innovative fashion and artistic experiences to the public.

This event was divided into four parts, with various styles of works, including elements such as hope and restraint, future and retro, romantic and avant-garde, etc. It showcased the understanding and pursuit of fashion art by cutting-edge designers. With youthful and romantic imagination and innovative cutting of fabrics, a new image of fashion art was created, disrupting people’s understanding of clothing and enriching the fashion culture.

The works reflected not only the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, but also the rapid changes of the current era, fully demonstrating the deep thinking of young designers about the current world, their insight into fashion, as well as their craftsmanship.

Xie Zijing, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Design said, “In the future, the college will continue to launch more unique fashion art activities in which more people can enjoy the charm of fashion and art, and feel the ingenuity and individuality of our students.”
