On November 26, the Slow Rice Festival Model United Nations Conference with the theme of “Promoting Food System Transformation and Addressing Global Food Security Challenges” was successfully held at the Academic Center for World Young Scientists (ACWYS). The event took place during the Slow Rice Festival in Qidu, and Ding Mengxin and Sun Xinyan of the translation major of WZU were invited to participate in the English group of this Conference as representatives of WZU.

As diplomatic representatives of Nigeria, the two students gave speeches, prepared draft resolutions, negotiated with allied and hostile countries, defused conflicts and manipulated procedural rules. Their wonderful performance won them the honor of “Best Style”.

Based on international relations, the Model United Nations Conference is a platform for students to exercise their communication ability and their capability to accept, put out and share knowledge. Through this event, our students felt the pride, fulfillment and responsibility of participating in international affairs. At the same time, this event has strengthened the inter-school cooperation and will offer valuable experience for our school to cultivate talents with global vision.

At this year’s Model United Nations Conference, our students tempered themselves through practice. Being inclusive, they gained insights, knowledge and confidence, and showed the new outlook of youth in the new era.
