On the afternoon of November 13, 2021, 35 teachers and students from 5 universities, including Wenzhou University, I-Shou University, Lingnan Normal College, Matsumoto University, and Dongshin University participated in the Conference of China-Japan-ROK International Cultural Exchange via video links. This event is also a preparatory meeting for the upcoming China-Japan-ROK International Cultural Exchange Forum to be held on December 18th to 19th. Professor Shigeo ITOI of Matsumoto University moderated this meeting. Professor Yang Hong, the Director of Department of Japanese Language and Vice Dean of School of Foreign Studies, Wenzhou University, Zhan Zhimin, the teaching staff and nine Year-1 students majoring in Japanese from Wenzhou University participated in the event. The heads of the 5 universities conducted detailed discussions on the agenda of the upcoming International Cultural Exchange Forum. And the nine students from Wenzhou University introduced the university, Wenzhou cuisine, local tourist attractions, etc. to Japanese and South Korean students in fluent Japanese. Their narration was well liked by other participants.

The China-Japan-ROK International Cultural Exchange Forum is a warm-up event for the 2022 Year of Wenzhou, China—Cultural Capital of East Asia. It further deepens the mutual understanding between teachers and students of the Departments of Japanese Language in Chinese, Japanese and South Korean universities, laying the foundation for their academic exchanges in the future.
